Description: Black Galaxy granite is a fine to medium-grained, black gabbro of the Precambrian period with golden-yellow sparkling broncite scales. This stone internationally may be nominated as a granite but in the area of application of the European Standard this stone must be nominated as a gabbro. Ideal for both interior and exterior use, Black Galaxy granite is frost free and polish constant. There are about 50 different quarries of Black Galaxy granite, for large projects and matching ensure all the raw material comes from the same quarry.

Gabbro: A dark-coloured, coarse-grained intrusive igneous rock. Gabbro is very similar to basalt in its mineral make up. It is composed mostly of the mineral plagioclase feldspar with smaller amounts of pyroxene and olivine.
